TMK

INDUSTRY: Oil & Gas

Challenge

As one of the largest North American producers of welded and seamless pipe and premium connections dedicated to serving the oil and gas industry and many industrial markets, IPSCO TMK had two main challenges when showing at the Offshore Technology Conference, - to design a an exhibit that brings the “WOW” while simultaneously representing the company’s technologically advanced steel tubular goods and premium connection products, in a modern fluid space that showcases the advanced technology, powerful manufacturing capabilities and talented people of IPSCO. Standing out in a crowded sea of worthy competitors can be a challenge. For TMK, one of the world’s leading producers of tubular products for the oil and gas industry, the Offshore Technology Conference represents the chance to increase its presence in the United States. TMK sought an exhibit design that would reflect the release of select, high-torque connections.

Solution

In a sea of blue and green that is often associated with the brands and businesses that make up the audience, exhibitors, and attendees for OTC, the use of shapes, color, and design were central to the exhibit strategy and design. Delivering on both form and function, the four central arches captured attention, like the flick of a match set aflame, with the perfectly-curved orange arches resembling the threads of a connection. In a comfortable, semi-private environment, made so by the curved archways, in-booth presentations were always at capacity, with comfortable seating and a big, bold screen from which to hear more from the company’s oil and gas specialists. From the inside looking out, visitors and booth stall alike could see attendees heads were nodding, as though in agreement and delight, stepping forward into the space. Small but ever-so mighty, the exhibit experience is bold and engaging in a way to that captured attention, pulling visitors in -- just like a moth to a flame. From top to bottom and everywhere in between this open and inviting exhibit environment delivers. With the on-brand curvy design of the carpet underfoot to the precision curves seen in the custom-designed walls replicating the form, shape, and feel of the company's highly recognizable corporate-orange lined pipes, this design delivers. The contemporary look and feel of TMK was well represented in the layout as well. Highlighted by a spherical overhang sign, the exhibit was brought together with a host of engaging accents including custom carpet, custom product stands and A/V kiosks, and vibrant graphic images of the diverse IPSCO team across the back wall. The custom product stands perfectly complemented the layout, flanking both sides, with custom carpet serving as wayfinding, leading visitors through the “tunnel” and directly to the company’s special product displays.
